Brighton & Hove Albion versus Aston Villa was scheduled to kick off at 14:00 BST on Sunday, 23 August 2026.
The match shared its scheduled Sunday start time with Manchester City versus AFC Bournemouth. Brighton’s participation in UEFA Conference League qualification play-offs on the preceding Thursday affected the scheduling of the match.
The fixture was played at Brighton’s home ground, Falmer Stadium. It was one of three Sunday matches in the opening Matchweek, followed later that afternoon by Newcastle United versus Liverpool at 16:30 BST.
The 14:00 time can be confused with the standard 15:00 Saturday kick-offs or with Newcastle–Liverpool’s later Sunday slot. Both Brighton–Aston Villa and Manchester City–Bournemouth were listed for 14:00, while the Newcastle match was scheduled two and a half hours later.
