Which club does Brentford host at 17:30 on Saturday, 22 August 2026, in the Premier League opener?
Answer
Tottenham Hotspur
Brentford host Tottenham Hotspur at 17:30 BST on Saturday 22 August 2026. It is the final Saturday fixture in the 2026–27 Premier League opening round.
The match is staged at Brentford Community Stadium in west London. Tottenham begin their league campaign away from home, while Brentford’s fixture follows three simultaneous 15:00 matches and the 12:30 Hull City–Manchester United contest.
This game is distinct from the Sunday and Monday headline fixtures: Newcastle United host Liverpool at 16:30 on Sunday, and Fulham host Chelsea at 20:00 on Monday. Tottenham’s opponent is therefore Brentford, not another London side such as Chelsea or Crystal Palace.
