Which manager led Germany to victory in the 2014 FIFA World Cup?
Answer
Joachim Löw
Answer
Joachim Löw
Joachim Löw led Germany to victory in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Löw had been part of Germany’s coaching setup for years before becoming head coach in 2006. At the 2014 tournament in Brazil, he guided a talented squad featuring Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos, Mesut Özil, and Thomas Müller.
Germany reached the final after defeating Brazil 7–1 in the semifinal, one of the most extraordinary results in World Cup history. In the final on July 13, Germany beat Argentina 1–0 after extra time, with Mario Götze scoring the decisive goal in the 113th minute.
The title was Germany’s fourth men’s World Cup and its first since 1990. Löw is sometimes confused with Oliver Bierhoff, who served as Germany’s team manager and administrative leader, but Löw was the head coach responsible for the team’s tactical direction.
