Which Madden NFL game was the last to be released on the PlayStation 2?

Madden NFL 12 was the last Madden NFL game released for the PlayStation 2.

Released in 2011, Madden NFL 12 arrived near the end of the PlayStation 2’s long commercial life. EA Sports also released it for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation Portable, and several mobile platforms, but it was the final entry to support both the PS2 and PSP.

The timing can cause confusion because later Madden games continued appearing on older systems such as the Wii, while the main series moved toward PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and newer hardware. Madden NFL 12 therefore marked the end of the franchise’s PS2 era, not the end of Madden releases on every previous-generation platform.

The game featured Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis on its cover and launched in North America on August 30, 2011. It was developed by EA Tiburon and published by EA Sports, as were many earlier Madden titles.
