Which Madden NFL 22 co-cover athlete also appeared on Madden NFL 20?

Which Madden NFL 22 co-cover athlete also appeared on Madden NFL 20? Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared the Madden NFL 22 cover with Tom Brady after previously headlining Madden NFL 20.

Mahomes was unveiled as the Madden NFL 20 cover athlete in April 2019, following his 2018 season as the NFL’s Most Valuable Player. He was the first Kansas City Chiefs player to appear on a Madden cover. Madden NFL 20 was released on August 2, 2019.

For Madden NFL 22, Mahomes and Brady were paired because they had faced each other in Super Bowl LV. Their joint appearance was notable: it was the franchise’s first shared cover since Madden NFL 10, which featured Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald.

The common mix-up is confusing the two players’ earlier individual cover appearances. Brady had previously appeared on Madden NFL 18, while Mahomes appeared on Madden NFL 20. Both returned as co-cover athletes for Madden NFL 22, released in 2021.
