Madden NFL 19 restored Windows releases after the series skipped PC since Madden NFL 08.
Released on August 10, 2018, Madden NFL 19 launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. Its Windows version was the first PC installment since Madden NFL 08, which had arrived in 2007. The return marked the end of an unusually long absence for the franchise on computers.
The standard edition featured Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, while the special Hall of Fame Edition featured Terrell Owens. The game was developed by EA Tiburon and used the Frostbite 3 engine. Its return to Windows also distinguished it from Madden NFL 18, which was released only for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
A common mix-up is confusing the first PC return with later Windows releases. Madden NFL 20 and Madden NFL 21 also appeared on Windows, but both came after Madden NFL 19. The key historical milestone is therefore the 2018 edition, not either sequel.
