The song is performed in the film by HUNTR/X and is associated with Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. Its Grammy recognition was part of the soundtrack’s broader awards success and helped distinguish it from the other original songs in the movie.
“Golden” also achieved major chart success, including a No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100. Its recording features EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami as the singing voices of the animated trio. EJAE also co-wrote the song and performs the vocal part assigned to Rumi.
The Grammy milestone is sometimes confused with the film’s Academy Awards and Golden Globe achievements. KPop Demon Hunters won major film awards as well, but “Golden” specifically made history in the Grammy category Best Song Written for Visual Media.
