Which J.K. Rowling play continues Harry Potter’s story with an adult Harry?

The story behind the answer

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continues Harry Potter’s story with Harry as an adult.

The play is set nineteen years after the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It follows Harry as an employee of the Ministry of Magic and his son Albus Severus Potter, who begins attending Hogwarts.

The stage production was written by Jack Thorne, directed by John Tiffany, and based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Thorne, and Tiffany. It premiered in London’s West End in 2016 and was published as a script rather than as a conventional Rowling novel.

The story centers on the difficult relationship between Harry and Albus, along with the consequences of revisiting events from the past. It is therefore distinct from Fantastic Beasts, which is a separate Wizarding World storyline set decades before Harry’s school years.
