Which J.K. Rowling book is presented as a Hogwarts textbook about magical creatures?
Answer
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is presented as a Hogwarts textbook about magical creatures. Within the fiction, its author is Newt Scamander, a magizoologist whose work is used by Hogwarts students.
Rowling published the real-world book in 2001 as a charity companion to the Harry Potter novels. It contains entries describing creatures such as dragons, hippogriffs, and boggarts, along with humorous marginal notes attributed to Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
The book is distinct from the later film series, although it supplied the title and Newt Scamander as a foundation. The films tell an original story rather than simply dramatizing the textbook’s creature entries.
