J.K. Rowling has said she would have been sorted into Gryffindor.
Gryffindor is one of the four Hogwarts houses in the Harry Potter series. It was founded by Godric Gryffindor and is associated with qualities such as courage, bravery and nerve. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger are the best-known student members of the house.
The house system is fictional, but Rowling’s comments about her own hypothetical sorting have become a popular piece of author trivia. They do not mean that she appears as a student in the novels or that the Sorting Hat officially sorted her within the story.
Gryffindor is also the house represented by a lion and the colours scarlet and gold. Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin are the other three Hogwarts houses, each with its own founder and attributes.
