Which historical figure is the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Origins?

Bayek of Siwa is the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Origins. He is a Medjay, a protector and law officer from the Siwa Oasis in ancient Egypt.

The game follows Bayek and his wife Aya as they investigate a conspiracy that threatens Egypt during the reign of Ptolemy XIII. Their struggle contributes to the formation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood.

Bayek is not the only major playable character: several sequences allow players to control Aya. However, Bayek is the central protagonist and the character whose journey anchors the main campaign.
