In Assassin’s Creed Origins, which character is the playable founder figure of the Hidden Ones?

The story behind the answer

Bayek of Siwa is the playable founder figure of the Hidden Ones in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Bayek is a Medjay, a protector and law officer from the Siwa Oasis in Ptolemaic Egypt. After a personal tragedy, he and Aya investigate a powerful group known as the Order of the Ancients. Their struggle eventually leads to the creation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood.

Aya is Bayek’s wife and an important co-founder of the Hidden Ones. She works closely with political figures in Alexandria and Rome, while Bayek’s journey takes him across Egypt’s deserts, cities, tombs, and waterways. The game uses their relationship to connect intimate family events with the emergence of a centuries-long secret tradition.

Origins was designed as a chronological beginning for the series’ fictional Assassin mythology. It also introduced a more prominent role-playing structure, including experience levels, equipment rarity, and a large open world modeled on ancient Egypt.
