What is the name of the Assassin’s Creed game set mainly in the Caribbean pirate world?

The story behind the answer

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is the Assassin’s Creed game set mainly in the Caribbean pirate world.

Released in 2013, Black Flag follows Edward Kenway, a Welsh privateer who becomes involved with both the Assassins and the Templars. The game is set during the Golden Age of Piracy in the early eighteenth century.

Its open world includes Caribbean islands and ports such as Havana, Nassau, and Kingston. Naval travel and combat are major parts of the experience, and Edward’s ship, the Jackdaw, can be upgraded throughout the campaign.

Black Flag is connected to Assassin’s Creed III through Edward’s grandson, Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor. It is also distinct from Rogue, which explores the series’ conflict from a Templar-aligned perspective. The pirate setting and extensive sailing made Black Flag notably different from the more city-focused earlier games.
