Which Himalayan pass is a traditional trade route between Nepal and Tibet near Everest?

The story behind the answer

Nangpa La is a traditional trade route between Nepal and Tibet near Mount Everest.

The pass is about 5,716 metres high and crosses the Himalayan watershed between Nepal’s Khumbu region and Tibet. For centuries, Sherpa traders used it to exchange goods across the high borderland.

Nangpa La lies northwest of Namche Bazaar and north of the main Everest trekking routes. It has also been used by Tibetan refugees traveling south into Nepal, giving the pass significance beyond commerce.

Nangpa La is often confused with Cho La or Renjo La, which are other high passes in the Everest region. Thorong La, another famous Nepalese pass, is farther west in the Annapurna area.
