Which Himalayan subrange contains Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Cho Oyu?

The story behind the answer

Mahalangur Himal is the Himalayan subrange containing Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Cho Oyu.

The subrange extends along the Nepal–China border in the Khumbu and Tibet regions. Its peaks include several of the world’s highest mountains, with Everest, at 8,848.86 metres, standing as its best-known summit.

Mahalangur Himal is sometimes loosely called the Everest region, but the names are not identical. Everest is one mountain, while the subrange includes a group of major peaks and several subsidiary ridges. Kangchenjunga Himal and Dhaulagiri Himal are separate Himalayan subranges farther west or east.
