Tilicho Lake is the Himalayan lake in Nepal that lies at approximately 4,919 metres in the Annapurna region.
The lake is in Manang District, on the northern side of the Annapurna massif. It is fed by glacial meltwater and sits in a high, arid landscape created by the rain shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Tilicho is frequently described as one of the world’s highest lakes, although exact rankings depend on whether a source counts permanent, naturally formed lakes and how elevation is measured. It should not be confused with Rara Lake, Nepal’s largest lake by surface area, or Phewa Lake near Pokhara.
