Which Himalayan national park in Uttarakhand is famous for alpine flowers?

The story behind the answer

Valley of Flowers National Park in Uttarakhand is famous for its alpine flowers.

The protected valley lies in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve in the western Himalayas. It is known for colourful seasonal blooms, including blue poppies, primulas, orchids, and saxifrages. The flowering season follows the summer snowmelt and monsoon conditions.

The park covers about 87.5 square kilometres and sits at elevations of roughly 3,200 to 3,600 metres. It also provides habitat for Himalayan wildlife such as the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, Himalayan musk deer, and bharal.

Valley of Flowers and Nanda Devi National Park together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area is not a permanent garden: many plants appear only during a short alpine growing season.
