Which Harry Potter stage play did J.K. Rowling co-create?

The story behind the answer

J.K. Rowling co-created the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The play was written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany, based on a story by Rowling, Thorne, and Tiffany. It premiered in London’s West End in 2016, with previews beginning in June and the official opening taking place on 30 July.

The story is set nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It follows the adult Harry, now working at the Ministry of Magic, and his son Albus Severus Potter. Draco Malfoy’s son Scorpius is also central to the plot.

Unlike the original Harry Potter books, Cursed Child was created primarily for live performance. Its published script is a playscript rather than a conventional novel, and its story explores the effects of family expectations, friendship, and changing the past.
