Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was the seventh book in J.K. Rowling’s original series.
Bloomsbury published it in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2007. The novel concludes Harry’s confrontation with Lord Voldemort and resolves major storylines involving Hogwarts, the Deathly Hallows, and the wizarding war.
The title refers to three legendary magical objects: the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility. Harry, Ron, and Hermione investigate these objects while also seeking Horcruxes, which are central to Voldemort’s attempt to achieve immortality.
Readers sometimes call it the “eighth” Harry Potter story because later works continued the wider franchise. However, Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final novel in Rowling’s original sequence. The stage play Cursed Child and screen productions belong to related parts of the franchise, not to the numbered novel series.
