Which Harry Potter book by J.K. Rowling was published last?

The story behind the answer

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was the last Harry Potter book published by J.K. Rowling.

Bloomsbury released the novel in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2007. It concludes the seven-book story as Harry, Ron, and Hermione leave Hogwarts to find and destroy Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes.

The title refers to three legendary magical objects: the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Invisibility Cloak. Together they form the Deathly Hallows, whose history is told through the wizarding story “The Tale of the Three Brothers.”

The book’s film adaptation was split into two parts, released in 2010 and 2011. That division can cause confusion about the final book’s identity, but both films adapt one novel: Deathly Hallows.
