In the DC series Lanterns, Hal Jordan protects Sector 2814.
Green Lantern sectors are areas of space assigned to members of the Green Lantern Corps. Sector 2814 is traditionally the sector containing Earth and is therefore closely associated with the human Green Lanterns in DC mythology. The series keeps that core piece of world-building while placing much of its story on Earth.
Hal is portrayed as a legendary Corps member and a former test pilot who is approaching retirement. He is temporarily filling in as John Stewart’s trainer, making their partnership both a professional assignment and a generational transition within the Corps.
The number is easy to misremember because nearby sector numbers also appear in Green Lantern stories. Sector 2814 is the canonical designation tied to Earth in Lanterns, not a case-file number, prison number, or episode reference.
