Which girl group won the 2011 UK series of The X Factor?
Answer
Little Mix
Answer
Little Mix
Little Mix won the 2011 UK series of The X Factor.
The group began on the eighth UK series of The X Factor, which aired in 2011. Its members—Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall—auditioned as solo contestants before the judges placed them together in a group.
They became the first group to win the UK version of The X Factor. Their victory led to a recording contract and the 2011 single “Cannonball,” followed by their debut album, DNA, in 2012. Little Mix later became one of the most commercially successful British girl groups of the 2010s.
The group is often confused with Fifth Harmony because both acts were assembled from solo contestants on televised talent competitions. Fifth Harmony formed on the American version of The X Factor in 2012, whereas Little Mix won the British competition one year earlier.
