Ace of Base released the 1994 album The Sign, named after its international hit single.
The Sign was the North American title of Ace of Base’s debut studio album. In many other markets, the record was issued as Happy Nation, with a partly different track listing. This regional title difference is why the album is frequently associated with two names.
The album included “All That She Wants,” “The Sign,” “Don’t Turn Around” and “Living in Danger.” “The Sign” became a major international pop hit and helped make the Swedish group one of the most commercially successful acts of the 1990s.
Ace of Base consisted of siblings Jonas Berggren, Linn Berggren and Jenny Berggren, alongside Ulf Ekberg. The group is often described as a quartet even though its two male and two female members had different performance roles. The album’s North American edition was certified multi-platinum.
