The song was written and produced by Teddy Park, a key producer associated with YG Entertainment. Its electronic production, forceful rap sections and confident refrain became closely associated with 2NE1’s bold performance style.
“I Am the Best” was released in June 2011 and became one of 2NE1’s signature songs.
