Which game introduced the Resident Evil character Rebecca Chambers?

Rebecca Chambers was introduced in the original Resident Evil.

She first appears as a young medic and the newest member of the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team. During the 1996 game’s events, Rebecca becomes involved in the investigation around the Arklay Mountains and can assist Chris Redfield depending on the player’s route.

Rebecca’s medical training distinguishes her from many of the series’ combat-focused protagonists. Her role also connects her to Resident Evil 0, a prequel that takes place shortly before the first game. In that title, she is one of the two playable characters and works alongside escaped convict Billy Coen.

The character’s later appearances include Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil: Vendetta, and other series media. Players sometimes remember Rebecca primarily from Resident Evil 0 because she is more prominent there, but her first video-game appearance was in the original 1996 Resident Evil.
