Jack Brabham won Formula 1 World Championship Grands Prix in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Brabham’s first World Championship victory came at the 1959 Monaco Grand Prix, when he drove a Cooper-Climax. He won further races in the 1960s, including his 1966 championship season with the Brabham team that he co-founded.
His final World Championship Grand Prix victory came at the 1970 South African Grand Prix. That result made Brabham the first driver to win a championship Grand Prix in three different decades.
Brabham remains the only driver to win the World Championship in a car carrying his own name. He won titles in 1959, 1960 and 1966, and his 1966 success came with a rear-engined Brabham powered by a Repco engine.
