Graham Hill is the only driver to complete motorsport’s unofficial Triple Crown.
Hill won the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He captured Monaco five times between 1963 and 1969, won the Indianapolis 500 in 1966, and shared victory at Le Mans in 1972 with Henri Pescarolo.
The Triple Crown is not an official championship. It is a widely recognized achievement based on winning three prestigious events that represent different disciplines: Formula 1, American oval racing and endurance racing. Hill’s combination remains unmatched by any other driver.
Hill also won the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship in 1962 and 1968. His son, Damon Hill, later became Formula 1 champion in 1996, making them the first father-and-son pair to win the title.
