Which film producer worked with J.K. Rowling on all eight Harry Potter films?

The story behind the answer

David Heyman worked with J.K. Rowling as producer on all eight Harry Potter films.

Heyman discovered a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone at his production company and helped bring the novel to Warner Bros. He served as a producer across the complete film series, from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001 through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2011.

Other major names are associated with the films, which can make this fact easy to mix up. Chris Columbus directed the first two movies, David Yates directed the final four, and Steve Kloves wrote most of the screenplays. Heyman’s role was producing the series as a whole.

Rowling was closely involved with the adaptations, including as a producer on the final films. Heyman later helped produce the Fantastic Beasts films, extending his connection with Rowling’s Wizarding World.
