Which fictional Hogwarts textbook is credited to Newt Scamander in J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world?

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the fictional Hogwarts textbook credited to Newt Scamander in J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world. Harry, Ron, and Hermione use it as a school text during their first year.

Rowling later published a real charity edition of the same-titled book in 2001. That version presents itself as Harry’s school copy, complete with humorous marginal notes attributed to Harry and Ron. Proceeds supported Comic Relief and helped distinguish the companion volume from an ordinary reference book.

The title was then used for the 2016 film and screenplay, which turned Newt Scamander into the central character of a prequel-era story. The textbook, the charity publication, and the film are related but are not the same work.
