Cormoran Strike is the main character of J.K. Rowling’s crime novels published as Robert Galbraith.
Strike is a private detective and former military investigator who works in London. He first appears in The Cuckoo’s Calling, published in 2013 under the Robert Galbraith pseudonym. His investigations often involve high-profile deaths, hidden relationships, professional rivalries, and conflicting witness accounts.
Robin Ellacott becomes central to the series as Strike’s secretary and later investigative partner. The novels are credited to Robert Galbraith even though Rowling’s authorship became public soon after the first book appeared. Cormoran Strike should not be confused with television detectives who share the surname Strike or with characters from Rowling’s Wizarding World.
