Which driver is the only woman to score points in a Formula 1 World Championship race?

The story behind the answer

Lella Lombardi is the only woman to score points in a Formula 1 World Championship race. She earned half a point at the 1975 Spanish Grand Prix, held at the Montjuïc circuit in Barcelona.

The race was stopped after 29 laps when Rolf Stommelen’s Hill left the track and struck spectators. Because less than three-quarters of the scheduled distance had been completed, the points awarded were halved. Lombardi was classified sixth, producing half a championship point.

Lombardi raced in Formula 1 from 1974 to 1976 and made 12 Grand Prix starts. Other women have competed in championship events, including Maria Teresa de Filippis, but Lombardi remains the only one to finish in a points-paying position.
