Sara Davies founded the craft brand Crafter's Companion in 2005.
Davies launched Crafter's Companion while she was a student at the University of York. The business began with a product designed to help crafters make envelopes more easily and grew into an international craft-supplies company offering tools, materials and creative products.
Her entrepreneurial background explains why she became a Dragon's Den investor rather than entering the programme solely as a television personality. Davies joined the BBC panel in 2019 and became known for her specialist knowledge of product development, retail and direct-to-consumer sales.
Crafter's Companion is sometimes confused with a single craft tool, but it is the name of the wider company and brand. The company expanded from its original envelope-making product into a much broader craft business.
