Which DC Universe chapter includes Lanterns?

Lanterns is part of the DC Universe’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

James Gunn and Peter Safran unveiled the first projects in their new DC Universe plan in January 2023. Lanterns was announced as the third television series in that initial slate, alongside a collection of film and television projects designed to share continuity.

The chapter title, Gods and Monsters, describes the first major phase of the DCU rather than the title of the Lanterns season. Lanterns contributes to that larger universe through its Green Lantern characters, its investigation, and elements that connect to broader DCU mythology.

The series was designed to stand alone and tell a complete story, so viewers do not need to know every other DC project to understand it. Nevertheless, its mystery is intended to lead into the main storyline of the wider DC Universe. It is separate from the earlier DC Extended Universe continuity and from the 2011 Green Lantern film.
