Jason Joseph represented Switzerland when he won the men’s 110-metre hurdles at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
Joseph won in 13.10 seconds. France’s Just Kwaou-Mathey finished second in 13.16, and Poland’s Jakub Szymański took third in 13.26. The result placed Switzerland at the top of a final featuring several of Europe’s leading hurdlers.
The men’s sprint-hurdles race consists of ten barriers over 110 metres. Athletes must combine explosive acceleration with precise rhythm, because even a slight contact with a hurdle can cost valuable time. The event differs from the women’s 100-metre hurdles, which was won by the Netherlands’ Nadine Visser in Birmingham.
