Which confectionery brand used the slogan “Nothing says lovin’ like something from the oven”?

The story behind the answer

Pillsbury used the slogan “Nothing says lovin’ like something from the oven” in advertising for its baking products.

The line connected homemade baked food with affection and family life. It was especially effective for a company selling refrigerated dough, baking mixes, and other products intended to make home baking easier and more convenient.

Pillsbury began in Minneapolis in 1869 when Charles Alfred Pillsbury and his uncle John S. Pillsbury entered the flour business. The company later became known for flour, dough, baking products, and the Pillsbury Doughboy, introduced in 1965 as a memorable advertising character.

The slogan is sometimes attributed broadly to American baking culture because it became familiar beyond individual advertisements. Its association is specifically with Pillsbury, however. General Mills acquired Pillsbury’s consumer food business in 2001, while some Pillsbury products continued under the brand name and the Doughboy remained a prominent symbol.
