Tej Lalvani was chief executive of Vitabiotics when he joined BBC’s Dragons’ Den.
Vitabiotics is a British company that develops and markets vitamins, minerals and other nutritional supplements. Lalvani became its chief executive and was involved in the family business before joining the television investment panel. His connection with the company came through his father, Kartar Lalvani, who founded Vitabiotics.
The brand’s products include well-known supplement ranges such as Pregnacare, Perfectil and Wellman. These products helped make Vitabiotics a significant name in Britain’s health and nutrition market.
Lalvani joined Dragons’ Den in 2017, bringing experience from a large established consumer-health company rather than from a single technology start-up. Viewers sometimes confuse Vitabiotics with a retailer such as Boots or Holland & Barrett, but Vitabiotics is the manufacturer and brand owner behind supplement ranges.
