Bandai Namco partnered with FromSoftware on the game’s release and distribution outside Japan. FromSoftware was the developer, so the two companies had different roles in bringing Elden Ring to players.

The partnership continued an established relationship between Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. Bandai Namco had also published the Dark Souls series in many regions, helping connect Elden Ring with the studio’s earlier action RPG audience.

Elden Ring launched across PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows platforms. Platform manufacturers supported the game’s release, but Sony, Nintendo, and Ubisoft were not its international publisher. Bandai Namco also published the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
