Which company manufactured the engines for the Airbus A350 XWB family?
Answer
Rolls-Royce
Answer
Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce manufactured the engines for the Airbus A350 XWB family.
The A350 uses the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine family. The engine was developed specifically for the A350 and is available in different thrust ratings for the A350-900 and A350-1000. It is one of the largest and most powerful members of the Trent series.
Unlike some Airbus aircraft that offer engine choices from multiple manufacturers, the A350 has a single engine supplier. This arrangement gave Airbus and Rolls-Royce a closely integrated propulsion solution for the aircraft’s long-range mission.
The Trent XWB is sometimes confused with the General Electric GE90 or GEnx, which power other wide-body aircraft. The Pratt & Whitney PW1100G is associated with the A320neo family rather than the A350.
