Which coach led the New Zealand All Blacks to the 2011 Rugby World Cup title?

The story behind the answer

Graham Henry led the New Zealand All Blacks to the 2011 Rugby World Cup title.

Henry became New Zealand’s head coach in 2004 after coaching Auckland, the Blues, Wales and the British & Irish Lions. Although his All Blacks lost in the 2007 World Cup quarter-finals, he was retained and guided the team into the 2011 tournament on home soil.

New Zealand defeated France 8–7 in the final at Eden Park in Auckland on October 23, 2011. Tony Woodcock scored the All Blacks’ try, while Stephen Donald kicked the decisive penalty. The tense victory gave New Zealand its second World Cup title.

Steve Hansen was Henry’s assistant and succeeded him as All Blacks head coach after the tournament, winning the 2015 World Cup. Wayne Smith was also part of New Zealand’s coaching setup, but neither man was the head coach for the 2011 triumph.
