Glasgow stood in for New York City during location filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Production used parts of Glasgow city centre to portray scenes set in Peter Parker’s home city.
Filming included locations such as Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate. The production dressed streets with New York police cars and taxis so that the Scottish locations could represent the film’s fictional New York setting.
Glasgow was only one part of the production. The filmmakers also shot elsewhere in England and built New York-inspired sets at Pinewood Studios, including environments based on Queens and areas near the Queensboro Bridge.
