Rome is the home of the Assassin Brotherhood in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Ezio Auditore travels there to oppose the Borgia family and rebuild the Brotherhood’s influence in Italy.
The game’s Rome is dominated by Cesare Borgia and his allies. Ezio liberates districts, recruits new Assassins, and restores damaged landmarks as he weakens Borgia control. The city acts as the main open-world environment rather than one stop among several equally large locations.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood continues Ezio’s story directly after Assassin’s Creed II. Although Ezio has strong ties to Florence and Monteriggioni, those places are not the game’s primary setting. Rome’s historical monuments and political factions form the backdrop for the title’s central theme of rebuilding a coordinated Assassin network.
