Juniper City is the large urban setting where Po and Zhen investigate The Chameleon’s activities. The city broadens the visual world of the franchise, which earlier films centered on places such as the Valley of Peace, Gongmen City, and the panda village.

Po travels there with Zhen, a corsac fox and skilled thief. Their partnership begins uneasily, but Zhen’s knowledge of the city and its criminal networks becomes important to the investigation. Juniper City is sometimes confused with Gongmen City, the major setting of Kung Fu Panda 2.
