Which Chevrolet model introduced the brand’s 6.2-liter LS3 V8 in the 2008 model year?

The story behind the answer

The Chevrolet Corvette introduced the brand’s 6.2-liter LS3 V8 for the 2008 model year.

Chevrolet installed the LS3 in the C6 Corvette beginning with the 2008 model year. The naturally aspirated V8 used a 6.2-liter displacement and produced 430 horsepower in standard form, or 436 horsepower with the available dual-mode exhaust system.

The LS3 replaced the 6.0-liter LS2 that had powered earlier C6 Corvettes. Its larger displacement came from a wider bore, while the engine retained the compact small-block architecture associated with Chevrolet’s modern V8 family.

The LS3 is sometimes confused with the later supercharged LS9 used in the Corvette ZR1 or the LS7 used in the Z06. Those engines belonged to different Corvette variants. The LS3 was the standard V8 for the regular C6 Corvette during its later production years.
