Which character becomes Lightning McQueen’s chief rival in Pixar’s Cars 3?

Jackson Storm becomes Lightning McQueen’s chief rival in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm is part of a new generation of technologically advanced race cars that begin dominating the Piston Cup. He is faster and more aerodynamic than many veteran competitors, and his success makes McQueen confront the possibility that his long career is ending.

The rivalry drives Cars 3’s central story. McQueen seeks new training methods and works with Cruz Ramirez, a trainer who eventually becomes an important racing partner. The film’s conflict is not only about beating Storm; it is also about adapting to change and deciding how a champion can pass knowledge to the next generation.

Jackson Storm is voiced in the original English version by Armie Hammer. He is distinct from Chick Hicks, McQueen’s aggressive rival in the first Cars, and Francesco Bernoulli, the prominent competitor in Cars 2.
