Which British girl group released the 2000 debut single “Overload”?

The story behind the answer

Sugababes released the 2000 debut single “Overload.”

The song introduced the original trio of Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy. It reached number six on the UK Singles Chart and earned the group a nomination for the BRIT Award for Best British Single.

“Overload” appeared on Sugababes’ debut album, One Touch, released in 2000. The track combined pop songwriting with an R&B-influenced production style, helping distinguish the group from many contemporary British pop acts.

Sugababes later became known for several line-up changes. Buchanan, Buena and Donaghy eventually reunited as the Sugababes, while other members continued performing under the name for several years.
