The American girl group TLC released the 1999 hit single “No Scrubs.”
The song appeared on TLC’s third studio album, FanMail, released in February 1999. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas performed the vocals, while Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes contributed a rap verse.
“No Scrubs” was written by Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, Kevin “She'kspere” Briggs and Xscape member LaTocha Scott. It became one of TLC’s signature songs and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks.
The song is sometimes confused with TLC’s other major 1990s hits, including “Waterfalls” and “Creep.” “No Scrubs” also won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 2000.
