Which Airbus airliner was the first to offer a dedicated freighter version from the A330 family?
Answer
Airbus A330-200F
Answer
Airbus A330-200F
The Airbus A330-200F was the first dedicated freighter version of the A330 family.
Airbus developed the A330-200F as a purpose-built cargo aircraft rather than a passenger aircraft converted after years of airline service. It retained the A330-200’s basic fuselage length while adding a reinforced main deck, cargo systems and a distinctive nose landing-gear arrangement.
The A330-200F first flew in November 2009 and entered service in 2010 with Etihad Crystal Cargo. Its main deck could carry standardized pallets and containers, making it suitable for express freight and general cargo operations.
The A300 and A310 also had freighter versions, but they belong to earlier Airbus families. The A350F is a later freighter project based on the A350, so it cannot be the answer to a question about the first dedicated A330-family freighter.
