Which Airbus airliner made its first flight on 2 November 1992?
Answer
Airbus A330
Answer
Airbus A330
The Airbus A330 made its first flight on 2 November 1992.
Airbus developed the A330 as a twin-engine wide-body aircraft alongside the four-engine A340. The two programs shared a common fuselage cross-section, cockpit design, and many systems, allowing Airbus to offer different engine-count options for different airline requirements.
The A330’s first flight was a major step in Airbus’s expansion into the long-haul wide-body market. The aircraft entered commercial service with Air Inter in January 1994, initially in the A330-300 form.
The A330 is sometimes confused with the A340 because both aircraft were launched during the same period and have similar fuselage dimensions. Their most visible difference is the number of engines: the A330 has two, while the original A340 family has four. Later A330 versions include the shorter A330-200 and the A330neo.
