Which Airbus airliner is the world's largest passenger aircraft?
Answer
Airbus A380
Answer
Airbus A380
The Airbus A380 is the world's largest passenger aircraft.
The A380 is a four-engine, full-length double-deck wide-body jet developed for high-capacity long-haul routes. Its two passenger decks and enormous cabin were intended to let airlines carry very large numbers of travelers between major airport hubs.
The aircraft made its first flight on 27 April 2005. Singapore Airlines operated the first commercial A380 flight on 25 October 2007, flying from Singapore to Sydney.
People sometimes call the A380 a “jumbo jet,” a nickname also used for the Boeing 747. The A380 is larger in passenger capacity and has two complete passenger decks, while the 747 has only a partial upper deck. Airbus delivered the final A380 in 2021, ending production after changing airline preferences favored smaller twin-engine aircraft.
