Which Airbus aircraft uses four Europrop TP400 turboprop engines?
Answer
Airbus A400M Atlas
Answer
Airbus A400M Atlas
The Airbus A400M Atlas uses four Europrop TP400 turboprop engines.
The A400M is a military transport aircraft developed for strategic and tactical airlift missions. Its four TP400-D6 engines drive eight-bladed propellers, giving the aircraft the performance needed for heavy loads, long-range transport and operations from relatively short or austere runways.
The aircraft was developed by Airbus Military, now part of Airbus Defence and Space, for a group of European and other partner nations. Its first flight took place in 2009, and the aircraft entered service with the French Air Force in 2013.
The A400M is sometimes confused with the Airbus A330 MRTT, but the MRTT is a jet-powered tanker and transport aircraft derived from the A330. The A400M is a purpose-built military turboprop transport rather than an airliner conversion.
